KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8: The Court of Cassation refrained from pronouncing punishment against male and female employees of the Ministries of Education, Health, Oil and Kuwait National Guard who forged sick leaves and collected over KD 9,000 worth of salaries.

The Public Prosecution Department accused the civil servants of forgery as they collected public funds they did not deserve. They allegedly committed the offense in their various places of work individually at different times by claiming the right to certain days of sick leave by deception.

They actually got the leave with attendant salaries – an act tantamount to fraudulent collection of public funds. They were also found guilty of forging official documents.
