KUWAIT CITY, April 7: Two Asian expatriates were arrested in Ahmadi area in possession of 240 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling the area when they noticed two men standing behind a vehicle with a number of cartons of mineral water bottles. When the suspects noticed securitymen approaching them, they ran but securitymen chased and arrested them.
They checked their civil IDs and discovered they are Asian expatriates. When securitymen checked the 18 cartons behind the vehicle, they discovered that it contained 240 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. The suspects were referred with the confiscated bottles of liquor to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
50 drug pills seized: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Thaher area in possession of 50 narcotic pills locally known as ‘Kabti’, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Thaher area when they suspected a vehicle and demanded the driver to pull over. However, the suspect refused to stop and fled, causing securitymen to chase him. Eventually, the two vehicles collided after which the suspect stopped. Securitymen checked his vehicle to find the drugs. The suspect was arrested and referred with the narcotic pills to the Directorate General for Drugs Control for investigations and necessary legal action against him.
Meanwhile, customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested a Kuwaiti coming from a GCC country for possessing two sachets of heroin and two pieces of hashish hidden in his clothes, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the Kuwaiti was arrested on suspicion because he appeared confused. He has been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
Wanted man nabbed: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested a Kuwaiti who was wanted by law in connection with two crimes — murder attempt and rape — and referred him to the authorities, reports Al-Rai daily. It has been reported the suspect was driving in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate and when he saw a police checkpoint, he changed direction and attempted to escape. But the vigilant police officers chased and arrested him.
