Security operatives nab 30 in less than 24 hours

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: In less than 24 hours, security operatives managed to arrest 30 individuals wanted for financial and criminal offenses, including drug possession. The campaign was conducted under the command of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Ibrahim Al- Tarrah. A security source said officers from the Capital arrested three citizens for evading 10 years imprisonment, 4 years imprisonment and 6 months imprisonment sentences respectively, in addition to a Kuwaiti woman involved in KD 5,300 financial offense together with another citizen wanted for KD 60,000 debt. The security source added officers from Jahra apprehended a citizen in possession of a piece of hashish and another citizen with illicit drug known as ‘chemical’.

Meanwhile, Farwaniya securitymen nabbed a citizen born in 1970 for possessing a packet of heroin. He was also dodging five years imprisonment sentence for attempted murder. The officers arrested a Bedoun man involved in KD 38,000 who had been sentenced in absentia to five years in prison, in addition to an Egyptian expatriate wanted for KD 2600 debt, and a citizen owing KD 1,400 with a Bedoun man also owing KD 1500. Ahmadi securitymen apprehended a citizen involved in KD 300,000 financial offense. They also arrested a Kuwaiti woman wanted for KD 34,000 debt, and took into custody two citizens with an Egyptian woman caught in possession of 62 tablets of MoI photo Illicit drugs seized during police operation. brain stimulant ‘Lyrica’ along with drug tools. Man held for blackmail: A Bedoun man working as accessories salesman in a beauty shop was arrested by security operatives from Hawalli for blackmail after he threatened to publish private photos of a girl on social media unless she paid him KD 5000. A security source said the officers made the arrest based on directives from the Director General of Criminal Investigation Department Brigadier Mohammad Al-Sharhan after the girl became fed up with his threats to publish her photos and went ahead to file a complaint with officers at the Hawalli police station, alleging the suspect had obtained the photos by hacking her mobile phone. In the meantime, securitymen devised a plan and advised the girl to pretend she has accepted his proposal and agree to pay the money he was requesting. Subsequently, a trap was set for the suspect to meet with the girl and collect the money. He was arrested upon arrival and referred to relevant authorities after he admitted the crime.

Man survives accident: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 50s died when his vehicle toppled on Amghara Scrapyard Road. When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location with firefighters and pulled out the citizen from his vehicle to discover he had succumbed to serious injuries. His corpse was referred to the Forensics Department and a case was registered. Meanwhile, a 20-year old miraculously survived when his vehicle was engulfed in flames after colliding with another vehicle on Salmi Road. According to security sources, the vehicle had toppled and burst into flames with the youth trapped inside after it collided with another vehicle. He succeeded in pulling himself out of the vehicle before he sustained burns.
