KUWAIT CITY, Mar 11: Fear of overcrowding of detainees in detention center and the deportation prison, may lead to the spread of infectious diseases between them, hence the Ministry of Interior decided to stop security campaigns against residence violators in the six governorates indefinitely, due to precautionary measure that has been taken in Kuwait as per guidelines of MOH.

The instructions were verbally issued by senior security leaders of the various security sectors that no violators should be sent to deportation prison at current period as the flights to many countries have been stopped.

The sources revealed that the security services have resorted to (transit) flights to deport expatriates since the decision to suspend flights to 7 countries was banned. In addition to the decision that is being implemented, which states that people should not be detained in the police station for more than 48 hours without submitting them to the competent authority.

The deportation prison witnessed an unprecedented boom in deporting the deportees to their homelands throughout the past year, due to well organized procedures but the cause of overcrowding at times is due to several reasons reports Al Qabas.

Sometimes there is lack of cooperation by some embassies concerned with violators who are caught as to obtain travel document in absence of passport which is sometimes held by citizens. Even sometimes costs of ticket is not paid by the sponsor. Sometimes MOI cannot deport due to legal considerations related to financial issues.

The sources stated that there is a specific mechanism regarding dealing and handing detainees held at the outposts to the competent authorities, and this mechanism sometimes leads to the overcrowding of detainees at some outposts for a long time. In this process the officials are exposed to large number of detainees during interrogation. In addition to good security control healthy environment is also needed.
