KUWAIT CITY, May 30: Ahmadi securitymen led by Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa launched an extensive security campaign in Sabah Al-Ahmad area during which they arrested 83 individuals, seized 7 vehicles and issued 17 traffic citations.

Bedoun kills self: A 22-year-old Bedoun youth committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope inside the construction site of a project of Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) in Sulaibiya area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a hanging corpse, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and discovered that the corpse belongs to a 22-year-old Bedoun youth. It was referred to the Forensics Department. A case was registered and investigations have been launched to determine if there is any element of crime in the case.

Student acquitted: The Court of Appeals, headed by Judge Salah Al-Houti, acquitted a university student of joining the banned terrorist organization – Jabhat Al-Nusrah. The higher court cancelled the ruling of a lower court that sentenced the student to 10 years in jail in absentia, allowed him to post bail of KD 500 and instructed him to maintain good behavior. Attorney Abdulmuhsen Al-Qattan, lawyer for the accused, argued in court that the case is not in line with the Criminal Law and it is not under the jurisdiction of the court, while pointing out that the accused did not admit joining the organization. Earlier, the Public Prosecution charged the student with committing an aggressive action against a country (Syria) by joining Jabhat Al-Nusra which is affiliated to al-Qaeda.
