Saudi King appoints Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman as Prime Minister

RIYADH, Sept 27: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued Tuesday a Royal Order appointing the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman as the Kingdom’s Prime Minister. According to the Order, the cabinet sessions attended by the King will be under his chairmanship, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. A second Royal Order reshuffled the cabinet.

According to the new line-up, Prince Khaled bin Salman will be Minister of Defense and Prince Abdullah bin Bandar will be Minister of National Guard. Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Adel Al-Jubair kept their posts as Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs respectively. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki were named Minister of Energy and Minister of Sports respectively. In addition, Saleh Al-Sheikh was named as Minister of State and Dr. Abdulatif al-Sheikh was named Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance (KUNA)
