KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: Spokesman of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) Ibrahim Al-Nashi has vehemently denied rumors spread on social media about the cancellation of rent allowance for housing grant applicants who fail to update their data before Sept 15, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, Al-Nashi affirmed the authority is still updating the data of all applicants and it did not set a deadline for this procedure. He affirmed the relevant departments have informed all those who need to update or change their data but it did not specify the period for them to do so.

He explained the cancellation of rent allowance is a violation of PAHW Law which states the applicant must have a family consisting of at least two persons in addition to himself, the applicant was not offered a house before and did not give up a house, plot or fl at. He then advised those who submitted their housing grant applications to visit the authority if there are changes in their status or any related information.
