Restaurants, cafes allowed to open 2 hrs before Iftar

KUWAIT CITY, March 22: The Director General of the Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi explained that restaurants, cafes and the like will be closed during the specified fasting period, and will be allowed to open two hours before the official iftar time (the Maghrib call to prayer) to start and prepare their work, reports Al-Qabas daily. He stressed that all the competent departments in the municipality branches in the governorates should follow up on restaurants and cafes and take legal measures in case of violation of the decision right from day one the first of the blessed month of Ramadan.

On the other hand, in public interest and the municipality’s keenness on the safety and health of the cleaners, Al-Manfouhi issued an administrative circular in which he stressed that all departments of public cleanliness and road occupancy in the municipality’s branches in the governorates should follow up on the implementation of cleaning contracts concluded with cleaning companies with regard to the specified working hours for daily cleaning of streets and collecting trash.
