KUWAIT CITY, April 17: : A number of expatriates in telephone calls to Al-Anba daily have expressed their dismay at the frequent mistakes made by staff in the residence affairs departments especially those related to the Latin names of expatriates or passport numbers following the cancellation of residences stickers on passports which came into effect on March 10, 2019, reports Al-Anba daily.

The expatriates pointed out that they have discovered these mistakes after the civil cards were issued for them and this means they have to visit the Ministry of Interior again to correct the errors for which they are not responsible.

To add insult to injury they are obliged to pay fees to reissue the civil card again.

The expatriates said this is not limited to checking with the residence affairs departments in the six governorates of Kuwait and the Public Authority for Civil Information, but the suffering is greater if they go to the airport and the immigration officials discover the mistake.

This is a bigger dilemma. Some of the expatriates said they had to cancel travel plans and as a result lost a lot of money because of the mistakes they have not committed and expressed the hope that the people concerned will scrutinize the transactions before they are completed.
