KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: The Council of Ministers is constantly seeking to facilitate citizens wishing to perform Hajj this year, by adopting a mechanism that would ensure services are provided at lower prices at a reduced price of about 40 percent, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting well-informed government sources. The sources said the central registration mechanism, through a platform supervised by the Ministry of Awqaf, is the government’s approach that is expected to be approved soon.
Regarding the Bedoun pilgrimage this year, the sources confirmed that the Awqaf will get in touch with the Saudi authorities again to allow them to perform Umrah and Hajj according to conditions that will be agreed upon. It indicated that the Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf, Abdulaziz Al-Majed, recommended that the Hajj administration officials hand over a comprehensive memorandum on the most important mechanisms by which prices would be reduced, while at the same time ensuring the provision of integrated services to citizens, and enabling everyone to perform the ritual with ease by registering via the platform.
The sources pointed out that the central registration platform will ensure that those wishing to perform Hajj can easily see the prices and caravans, in order to choose what is suitable to them before registering. The sources pointed out that Awqaf will allow the registration of 250 to 300 pilgrims with each caravan, in the event that registration is approved through the platform. The sources added, what it called mergers will not be allowed if the registration platform is approved, and caravans will not be given equal numbers.
