KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3, (KUNA): A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for assaulting the Egyptian receptionist of a clinic in Salmiya and causing injury to his eye, reports Al-Anba daily. The attack happened after the victim requested the citizen to stop smoking using an electronic cigarette. The suspect was referred to the police station of the area while the victim was referred to Mubarak Al-Kabeer hospital.

‘Singer a criminal’: The ban imposed on a particular GCC singer from entering Kuwait is not because of intentional sabotage, as claimed by this famous artist but it is due to his involvement in several criminal cases while he had lived in Kuwait as a Bedoun resident, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting a reliable source.

The source explained that the singer, who was living with his family in Kuwait, was involved in many criminal cases during the end of 1990s.

However, his criminal record was overlooked because of the intervention of influential personalities as he was in the beginning stage of achieving fame and was performing special concerts.

Director punished: The Legal Affairs Department of Kuwait Municipality unveiled some details of the investigations it is conducting on the case of entry of several tons of Brazilian meat through Shuwaikh Port without certificates to prove they are void of mad cow disease, reports Al-Rai daily.

The department issued six recommendations — punishing a director, supervisor, and head of department, cutting the salary of one of them, and demoting another.
