‘Ration’ food leaving Kuwait seized

KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Customs officers at the Salmi border post recently foiled the attempt of an expatriate to smuggle out of the country subsidized foodstuff, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added the man is a trucker and was leaving Kuwait for an Arab country. The contraband and the trucker have been referred to authorities.

Drugs with woman: Police have arrested a young Jordanian woman for possessing and consuming drugs, reports Al-Rai daily. The woman was ordered to pull over for reckless driving in Salmiya. When police asked her for her driving licence and car registration, they sensed she was abnormal. Police then seized from her three pieces of hashish and referred her to the General Department for Drugs Control. In another unrelated incident, police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for possessing 112 narcotic pills. He was also initially arrested for reckless driving. Police records show he was wanted by law for failing to pay KD 11,000 debt.
