Pre-meditated murder denied as Syrian falls victim to stabbing in friends brawl

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: An unidentified bedoun youth has been referred to the Public Prosecution along with five others – a Syrian and four bedoun – for the alleged murder of a Syrian who was stabbed in the chest by the main culprit, a bedoun, reports Al-Anba daily. The five suspects who were injured during the fight are receiving treatment in the Farwaniya Hospital under heavy police guard.

The main accused, during interrogation at the area police station, has denied the murder was pre-planned. He added, he met the victim by chance and an old rivalry between them came to the fore. At this point a fight ensued and he stabbed the victim in the chest and the blade penetrated his heart.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. According to a security source the crime has been classified as premeditated murder. According to security sources when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police and paramedics rushed to Sulaibiya and found no one at the site of the fight between the youngsters.

The source added, minutes later, police received a report that one of the fighters, a Syrian, who was stabbed had died and another born in 2002, was injured.

Another report said four bedoun were also referred to the hospital because they had sustained injuries during the fight and were receiving treatment. The injured bedoun said the victim was their colleague and the youth who drove him to Al- Sabah Hospital said he stabbed him in the back and was subsequently detained.
