Police hunt ‘female’ beggar

KUWAIT CITY, July 18: Police are looking for an unidentified man, who was clad in abaya and niqab as he pretended to be a female beggar in Egaila and stole the handbag of a Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The Kuwaiti woman filed a complaint at Riqqa Police Station, narrating that while she was shopping in a commercial complex in Egaila, a ‘female’ beggar approached her and asked for money which ‘she’ needs to undergo treatment. When the complainant gave money, she was surprised because the suspect grabbed her handbag containing KD100 and her mobile phone.

The complainant told police that she ran after the suspect, during which the latter’s abaya fell down and then she discovered the beggar is a man who pretended to be a woman.

Manager insulted: A female manager at a bank in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate filed a complaint at the police station in the area against a Kuwaiti client who allegedly insulted her in the workplace and threatened to destroy her office, reports Al-Rai daily. The complainant told police that while she was busy doing her work, she was surprised as the citizen demanded for immediate completion of his transaction. When she tried to explain the procedures, the citizen got angry, insulted her in front of other clients, and threatened to destroy her office. Police will look into the CCTV in the bank to verify the complaint and then take action against the citizen if proven guilty.
