Pilot jailed for offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 16:  The Cassation Court sentenced a pilot – Captain Ahmed Ashour – to three years in jail for offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his criticism Decisive Storm Operation on his Twitter account. The Appeals Court had earlier sentenced the pilot to two years imprisonment with hard labor with bond of KD 1,000 to suspend implementation of the ruling in return for good conduct for three years. It also confiscated the device that he used to tweet. The Public Prosecution decided to release him on KD 2,000 bail after investigating him on the State security case filed against him following his tweet about the Decisive Storm.
