Pay certificate not required while renewing work permit but applies when transferring

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Renewing the work permit at the Public Authority for Manpower does not need a salary transfer certificate, but the salary certificate condition is required in case of transfer from one sponsor to another, reports Al- Seyassah daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources stated that the authority has taken several measures with regard to salary certificates for workers, and said companies which employ more than 50 people, can complete the transactions through the ‘WhatsApp’ application.

Regarding the renewal of work permits for employees in private sector companies that have less than 50 workers, the sources indicated it can be done ‘online’ and electronic portal, after signing a commitment to transfer of salaries into bank accounts, and then renewal and final cancellation transactions are completed only for travel.

The sources added, for the employer who has less than 50 workers and wants to complete transfer transactions and add employees to his file, he must fix an appointment to obtain a salary certificate that is still a condition in the cases of transfer.
