PAS approves outside ‘sports participation’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25, (KUNA): Public Authority for Sports (PAS) approved Kuwait’s participation in regional, Arab and Islamic sports tournaments, which are not subjected to international sports federations. PAS deputy director Humoud Fulaiteh told KUNA, on Sunday, that this approval came after 35 representatives from sports clubs and federations had met and unanimously agreed to make this move. This approval showed keenness to expand sports activities beyond its current limitation, Fulaiteh stressed.

Outside participation will have a positive impact on improving the level of athletes, he pointed out. This unanimous agreement showed that everyone in on the same page in supporting sports in the country, he added. He further said that in line with the directives of the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Sports Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, PAS will provide financial supports for athletes competing under the Kuwaiti flag.
