PAM affirms its ‘commitment’ to provide workers legal protection

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1, (KUNA): Director-General of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Ahmed Al-Mousa on Monday stressed the authority’s commitment to providing legal protection and ensuring an appropriate work environment for all workers in the private and domestic sectors. While receiving India’s Ambassador to Kuwait Sibi George and his accompanying delegation, Al-Mousa said Kuwait’s labor market is hiring workers who serve the market and meet its needs.

Al-Mousa lauded the ancient historical and distinguished relations between the two countries, stressing keenness on keeping these ties good. He affirmed that Kuwait is making continued efforts to develop the process of recruiting skilled workers in a method that serves Kuwait’s developmental and economic interests, and benefits at the same time the workers and the countries.

Meanwhile, the Indian envoy expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Kuwait for its efforts made in this regard, emphasizing his desire to boost cooperation between the two countries in labor.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti and Indian sides discussed mechanisms of mutual cooperation in the field of recruitment and employment of Indian workers in the State of Kuwait. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director General of PAM Mubarak Al-Azmi, head of PAM International Relations Department Director Jaber Al-Ali and legal researcher Abdulaziz Khalifa.
