KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The government, represented by Ministry of Finance, is studying the possibility of renting real estates for state institutions but giving each institution the freedom to take the real estate of their choice on rent based on their requirements, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They said supervisory reports highlight the fact that the number of rent contracts of headquarters of government offices exceeds 500. The State Treasury continues to spend more than KD 40 million to pay rents of various buildings rented by State Housing Administration for many government offices.

This situation has pushed the State Audit Bureau to stress the need for Ministry of Finance to reconsider this file, and coordinate with the concerned governmental bodies regarding the possibility of constructing stateowned buildings on lands provided in order to reduce the financial burdens borne by the State Treasury.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works will prepare the list of 50 employees who have been in service for 30 years or more in order to refer them for retirement, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source.

The source disclosed that the Legal Department is currently collating names of employees who will be referred for retirement, in coordination with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and in line with the relevant bylaws and conditions.

The source added the ministry intends to ask some of these employees to work as consultants based on its actual need for such manpower after obtaining approval from supervisory bodies
