Over 60,000 prescribed medicines home delivered until June 30: MoH

KUWAIT CITY, July 5: Assistant Undersecretary for Medicine and Food Control Affairs at the Ministry of Health Dr Abdullah Al-Bader announced that 60,018 prescriptions (medicines) were delivered to beneficiaries at home during the period from March 29 to June 30. The delivery service was carried out with cooperation between the pharmacy departments in hospitals and specialized centers and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), reports Aljarida daily.

In this regard, the Health and Occupational Safety Superintendent at KFSD Dr Fayez Al-Nassar said KFSD aimed to deliver medicines to those at home who required them as a move to reduce the burden on medical and technical cadres, and as a precautionary and safety measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the patients. He revealed that 450 officers and non-commissioned officers have participated in this service, in addition to 350 vehicles distributed to 26 pharmacies to serve the distribution of medicines and medical devices.
