Over 100 held in crackdown on illegal expats, runaways

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Security operatives from the Capital arrested 27 expatriates from different nationalities for violating Residency Law and 13 people who escaped from their sponsors, 32 people without their IDs, and 29 marginal workers.

Also, the officers issued 145 traffic citations and impounded 7 vehicles to the ministry garages, and placed wheel locks on 14 vehicles parked in wrong places. Meanwhile, three citizens were arrested by the officers in possession of 40 narcotic pills; two of the suspects were involved in civil case. Security sources the officers were on a round of the area when they came across a vehicle with three people inside.

They waved the driver down for checking and discovered while checking their civil ID cards that two of them were wanted by law and arrest warrant had been issued against them. The officers went ahead to conduct a search in their vehicle and recovered 40 narcotic pills. All suspects were referred to concerned authorities.
