Non vaccinated Kuwaitis allowed to return with PCR negative certificate

45 countries allow non vaccinated travelers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: As Kuwait begins to allow non vaccinated Kuwaiti citizens to travel and return back to Kuwait from Sunday. For arriving Kuwaiti citizens who have not received any vaccine doses or have not completed doses have to submit negative PCR certificate valid for 72 hrs prior to boarding the flight.

45 countries allow non vaccinated travelers in their countries. Majority of these countries only require PCR negative certificates before arriving to their countries, whereas some countries require PCR tests to be carried out after arrival with a quarantine period whereas some countries do not impose any such conditions.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation in its circular to all airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport stated that only non vaccinated Kuwaiti citizens are allowed to enter Kuwait.

Passengers have been categorized as follows

Fully Vaccinated
1. Who has received 3rd dose (booster shot).
2. Who have received 2nd dose not more than 9 months  
3. Those who have been infected and recovered from COVID-19 virus not more than 3 months ago)

Partially Vaccinated
Those who have received 2nd dose of vaccine over 9 months ago

Non Vaccinated
Those who have not received nor completed the dose approved by Kuwait

For Fully Vaccinated
PCR test prior to arrival no longer needed
PCR test upon arrival no longer needed
Home quarantine no longer needed

Partially Vaccinated
PCR test no longer required prior to arrival
Home quarantine of 7 days upon arrival, can end quarantine by presenting PCR negative result

Non Vaccinated
PCR negative certificate 72 hrs prior to boarding the flight is required
Home quarantine of 7 days upon arrival, and ending quarantine on 7th day by presenting PCR negative result

Children below the age of 16 yrs are excluded from above requirement

All travelers arriving in Kuwait are urged to take a Rapid Test at home if they are showing symptoms of COVID. Incase of a positive result PCR test is required to perform.
