I have been working for more than 11 years with my current employer as an engineer. My visa will expire on Feb 20, 2019 and unfortunately Kuwait Society of Engineers rejected my registration so I was not able to get NOC. Automatically my visa will change. Has the company the right to reduce my salary and change my benefits like accommodation, transportation and annual leave. What about my Service Indemnities for the past 11 years? Please let me know the legal basis.

Answer: We advise that you tread cautiously especially that your registration request has been rejected by the Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE). If your company wants to be nasty, they can lap on this action of KSE and claim that they employed you based on information provided by you that turned out not to be accurate as per the action of KSE. They may attempt to do exactly as the fears that you have expressed above and when you want to fight back you will find out that your hands are tied. This is why we advise that you tread cautiously and try to be in their good books. As for your indemnity, we believe that they cannot deny paying you when the time is due.
