KUWAIT CITY, June 19: The decision taken by the Cabinet on Thursday to allow expats to enter Kuwait from 1st of August, sources stated that direct flights will operate to and from Kuwait. Flights coming in from High-Risk countries will be open as long as passengers on board are vaccinated with vaccines (Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson) with two doses approved by health authorities and having valid residence.

It is an opportunity for all airlines which were operating in Kuwait to apply for operations of commercial flights with Directorate General of Civil Aviation to restart their operations for incoming and outgoing flights to all destinations, reports Al Anba. Currently 5,000 passengers per day are allowed and there is no change to it at the moment, but the daily arrivals have not reached the level it is expected to be. Kuwait has a plan that when more than 70% of the population (Kuwaitis and Expats) will be vaccinated, the high risk countries list will be canceled.

Meanwhile Jazeera Airways launched a new direct route between Heathrow & Kuwait. Flights operated was on an A320neo which is world’s longest route for this aircraft type. Heathrow Airport tweeted stating “Please welcome the newest member of our airline family, Jazeera Airways”
