New reports concerning visa sellers, 5 more cases reported

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 30: The Public Prosecution received 5 new cases related to human trafficking and visa selling orders to arrest the accused persons were issued the total cases have increased to 33 since the beginning of this year.

During corona crisis the Ministry of Interior has filed 13 cases which is the highest number in cases of trafficking in residence in the history of these cases.

The source added that the prosecution decided to detain the accused in the first 6 cases for a period of 21 days and has requested supplementary investigations for the rest of the cases.

The prosecution did not release any of the accused in the cases submitted by the Ministry of Interior due to the severity of the crime against the human being and against the reputation of Kuwait.

90% of the accused in these cases are expats, compared to 10% of the Kuwaitis who are owners of companies. Most of the expats accused were gathered through the statements of the victims. The source expected that there will be other issues in trafficking in residences, because this file has been wide open and is drawing a great attention.
