Murder case ‘solved’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15: A security source said that the Ministry of Interior plans to close the file of the murder case of an elderly Kuwaiti woman because the suspect in the case is said to have committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor of a residential building in Salmiya, reports Al-Anba daily.

Separate reports issued by the Criminal Evidences Department and the Criminal Investigations Department, showed the man who was wanted in connection with the murder is her nephew and he had allegedly murdered her and robbed her. Another newspaper, quoting a security source said, the man worked as a firefighter and after sensing the security authorities were closing in on him, he felt he could not escape arrest and decided to end his life. Meanwhile, a reliable source said the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate plans to make random drug test on all its employees. Those found guilty of consuming drugs will have two choices in front of them — submit for treatment or discharge from service.

Stabbed in the head: A Kuwaiti citizen was stabbed in the head during a quarrel with two Bedouns in Al-Rai area, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, when securitymen received information about the quarrel, they rushed to the location with paramedics. Securitymen arrested the two Bedouns and referred them to the police station of the area while paramedics referred the injured citizen to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment.
