KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Lackluster attitude of Kuwait Municipality officials has led to the flooding of tons of banned foodstuffs into the local markets. According to a source, officials of the Imported Foodstuffs Department delayed in informing land, air and sea borders about the ban on import of certain poultry meats and shrimps for almost one month in certain cases. The banned products were possibly distributed throughout the markets and sale outlets long before the concerned officials at the borders receive the circulars. He cited a situation whereby Circulars No. 2/2017, 3/2017 and 5/2017 were distributed 36 days after the date of issue while they were published in the official gazette on Jan 15.By Abdulnasser Al-Aslami, Jaber Al-Hamoud and Munaif Nayef Al-Seyassah Staff and Agencies
