KUWAIT CITY, May 14: Kuwait Municipality has given the go ahead for meat shops located in cooperatives and central markets to sell to consumers directly; clarifying the stores located in the branches of cooperatives and in the commercial areas are not yet allowed to operate.
Some companies are licensed to sell meat and livestock with home delivery service, indicating the consumers can place their orders by calling these companies.
The source added the live poultry shops are not allowed to open — whether they are located in the branches of cooperative societies or in residential areas.
The source said the decision of the Municipality director to allow groceries to operate is limited to home delivery service only; hence, no one is allowed to shop in groceries.
He disclosed the supervisory teams in all the Municipality branches have been instructed to inspect groceries to ensure strict compliance with the directives, indicating the workers in these groceries should have a health card stating they are free of diseases.
