‘Lease/purchase new site for Kuwait’s health office in UK’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: MP Abdullah Al- Kandari has submitted a proposal for the Ministry of Health to shoulder the fees for obtaining visas for Kuwaiti patients who will undergo treatment abroad. He cited Article 15 of the Constitution which stipulates the State shall take care of public health, indicating the ministry must shoulder the visa fees to ease the burdens of the patients and their companions.

In addition, the MP submitted another proposal to lease or purchase a new site for Kuwait’s health office in London. He said the current office is dilapidated, while the location is inconvenient for both the employees and visiting citizens.

He also pointed out the premises are inadequate for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. He added Article 20 of law number 8/2010 on the rights of persons with disabilities mandates the State to provide all the necessary facilities and services for this category. He urged the ministry to address the issue and provide a more convenient location for those visiting the office in London, especially the patients.
