KUWAIT CITY, Nov 18: The Ministry of Interior will investigate a new real estate fraud case in the next few days, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a reliable source.

The source revealed a famous Kuwaiti businessman is involved in the case, indicating the total value of the bogus real estate properties is estimated at KD 20 million.

The businessman allegedly concluded a deal and signed contracts granting real estate properties to a GCC national in Kuwait, provided the latter also gives his real estate properties in his country to the businessman.

After signing the contracts, the businessman granted his properties to the GCC national including 14 farms and residential buildings, but it appeared that these properties are not registered under his name and some belong to local banks as they have been mortgaged, which means it is difficult to transfer ownership.

The GCC national filed a complaint at the ministry and the businessman will either be summoned for questioning or he will be arrested depending on the outcome of investigations, the source concluded.
