Mohammed bin Zayed … may the speech of wisdom now become an annual tradition

HAPPY is the one whose hobby is his profession. However, the happiest is the one whose brothers and aides assist and support great leaders such as the members of the Supreme Council of the Federation of the United Arab Emirates, which was described by the President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed with these aforementioned qualities.

Undoubtedly, such qualities have been clearly interpreted throughout the 51 years of the federation, which was consolidated by the mighty efforts of leaders who believed that unity is the path to leadership and progress.

This conviction started with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their brothers who founded this great country, through Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who saw in the leadership of the federal state “a great responsibility” and prayed to the Almighty “to help him carry and deliver it”.

Honestly, the Emirates, which took these great steps in the last half century, reached where it is currently because of its leaders whose hobby is good governance.

Therefore, such a country with such exemplary leaders will definitely persevere in progress and development, and will be a clear example of the fact that strength is in unity, a message that must reach all Arab countries.

This unit starts with its successful nucleus – the Cooperation Council for the Arabian States of the Gulf (GCC) – that has been moving steadily for 42 years towards achieving its ultimate goal, which is integration and union, in implementation of its founding statement, leading to Arab unity, or integration to a reasonable extent for 22 countries which have great potential that qualifies them to become an influential global power.

Today, the world views the United Arab Emirates as the ideal model for cooperation, integration and national fusion, based on the principle of “all for one and one for all”. Experiences throughout the 51 years of the union have proven this on many occasions.

The speech of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed represents a national roadmap for his people and brothers, as well as for the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which must continue to work towards achieving the GCC charter. Then there is no doubt that it will be a great regional gathering that includes the six countries that are harmonious in culture, customs, traditions, systems of government and laws.

No one would disagree that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s speech was a speech of wisdom based on facts that no one can ignore, either in internal affairs or in the relationship with residents who, despite their cultural and ethnic diversity, come from 200 countries. The UAE has worked on capitalizing on them and making them a factor in the construction and development of the state and society – unbothered by the fact that their number is greater than that of the citizens – or in international relations and turning opponents and enemies into friends.

There is no doubt that the people of the United Arab Emirates are fortunate to have such a leadership that is well aware of how it works for the interest of its people. The leadership is also happy with its people who are dedicated to national service. This is why the speech came to highlight those virtues. It would be better if it was an annual speech, expressing the developments of the federal situation from which the people in the region should learn the concepts of true unity.
