MoH ‘targets’ herd immunity

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health Dr Buthaina Al-Mudhaf confirmed that the ministry is keen on achieving community immunity against coronavirus; hence, the opening of two vaccination centers in areas where a large number of expatriate workers are residing — Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Youth Center and Al-Tadamon Center, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Mudhaf disclosed in a television statement that the capacity of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Youth Center is 6,000 vaccinations daily; affirming the ability of the medical staff assigned in the center to accommodate a larger number of people in the next stage. She added the ministry is preparing other vaccination centers in the southern region to ensure that the pace of vaccinations is accelerated. She said the current total number of vaccinations per day ranges from 95,000 to 100,000; pointing out that the opening of more vaccination centers is preceded by thorough preparation to regulate the entry and exit of the people, and to ensure the provision of health care sites for anyone who might experience a health problem during and after vaccination.
