MoFA probes ‘cash’ video clip, photos

KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started investigations into the video clip and photos, which went viral on social media recently, wherein a person is seen displaying cash in a car while holding a poster under the name of the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily quoting an official source from the ministry.

In a press statement, the source disclosed that the money in the viral video clip and photos was withdrawn from a commercial bank; so the money could be that of an employee at the ministry.

He stressed the money is not related to the ministry as it was not taken from any of its accounts.

The source clarified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ accounts are in the Central Bank of Kuwait only and it does not have accounts in commercial banks in compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Finance, as the money in these accounts are disbursed according to the regulations and upon approval of regulatory authorities in the State
