MEW revenues hit KD 500 mn

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: The revenues of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy from electricity and water reached KD 500 million in fiscal 2022/2023, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources. Sources revealed the ministry collected KD319 million at the beginning of the current fiscal year.

Sources said the ministry’s revenue is expected to reach half a billion Kuwaiti dinars once it collects payments for the energy bills of the government sector, especially since the ministry is keen on expediting the collection of such payments.

Sources attributed the increase in revenues to various factors like the intensified efforts to collect payments electronically, and expansion of online services on the ministry’s website. Sources affirmed the ministry will continue the collection of payments for energy bills until the end of the current fiscal year on March 31.
