Mentally challenged sportsmen leave for UAE

Kuwait’s delegation of mentally challenged sportsmen from the Kuwait Sports Club for the Disabled has left the country for the United Arab Emirates to undergo a twoweek training camp program in preparation for the upcoming competitions.

Heading the delegation is Shafi Al-Hajri, who before departing stated that the sports camp is part of the club’s comprehensive program to improve the skills of sportsmen under the category of mental disability. He highlighted the excellent performance showcased by the team during the recently-concluded “Seventh Sharjah International Open Athletics Meet for the Disabled”.

Al-Hajri affirmed the keenness of the club to rehabilitate and train the highest possible number of sportsmen with mental disabilities in preparation for their participation in the World Athletics Championship, which is due to be held this August in London. He said the training camp in the UAE will consist of advanced training programs as well as entertainment programs for the participants
