Members of the GCC Basketball Clubs Federation

Members of the GCC Basketball Clubs Federation unanimously agreed on the proposal of Saudi Arabia to host the premier league instead of the GCC Clubs Championship whereby each country will participate in the league with two teams. This statement was given by a member of the basketball federation’s interim committee Haitham Al-Baroun after he returned from a meeting hosted yesterday by Saudi Arabia for the federation’s members. Al-Baroun revealed that the idea was supported by President of the Saudi’s Public Authority for Youth Care Abdullah Musaed.

He explained that the competition will take place during the period between October 2017 and April 2018. Matches will be held on Fridays of every week. The participants will be the league champions and runners-up from all GCC countries. Al-Baroun indicated that another meeting will be held at the end of this month among the committee members and Abdullah Musaed with the aim of forming committees to supervise the championship.
