Medicine made from pigs pancreatic tissue is legally permissible

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 16: The Ministry of Health confirmed that one of the medicines for vesicular fibrosis and pancreatic cancer which is supplied in hospital pharmacies and health centers affiliated with the ministry containing products from pig pancreatic tissue is legally permissible according to the decree from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The ministry said in a statement that this drug has been registered in Kuwait since 2015.

The sources stated that the order for this medicine was presented to the Public Affairs Committee in the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, which confirmed that there are some pharmaceutical and food products that contains gelatin extracted from pork fat that while manufacturing  these products using thermal and chemical reaction it changes the properties from the original material which is legally permitted to use
