Man wanted for 100 years jail in multiple cases held; Lizard scares people

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: Police have arrested an unidentified person who had been sentenced in absentia to 100 years imprisonment in connection with four crimes, reports Al-Shahed daily. Without going into details, the daily said the suspect was riding a taxi and when police ordered the taxi driver to stop, he allegedly got out of the taxi and started running. Police chased and arrested him and handed him over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.

Ration food seized: Customs officers have arrested an unidentified person for allegedly attempting to smuggle out of the country subsidized foodstuff, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily added, police acting on a tipoff boarded the dhow minutes before it was about to set sail for Iran. The daily did not give more details

Lizard scares people: Police have arrested an unidentified youth for frightening away shoppers in Hawalli, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily added the youth had a lizard in his hand and he played with the lizard in front of people in the café, sometimes releasing the reptile on the tables, until an unidentified woman called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. The youth was taken to a police station and released after he signed a pledge not to repeat the offence. The lizard has been handed over to the concerned authority.
