Let teachers from ‘31 countries’ return

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5 : The head of the Employees Syndicate at the Ministry of Education, Saleh Al- Azmi, has called on the Council of Ministers and particularly the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education to issue a decision, to exempt teachers from arriving into the country who are stranded in the countries which the government has termed ‘infected’ so that they can be in Kuwait before August 16 to help them take part in training courses organized by the Ministry of Education for distance learning, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

Al-Azmi said in a statement yesterday: The Ministry of Education has prepared an integrated plan to deal with the current situation and the circumstances of the spread of the new Corona epidemic through the implementation of the distance education system for all academic levels until the end of this global epidemic in order to preserve the safety of our student children.

It is worth mentioning here the government of Kuwait based on instructions of the Kuwaiti health authorities due to the situation and repercussions caused by the spread of the coronavirus regarding ‘high-risk’ countries had regulated the entry of citizens from India, Iran, China, Brazil, Columbia, Armenia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Syria, Spain, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Iraq, Mexico, Indonesia, Chile, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Italy, North Macedonia, Moldova, Panama, Peru, Serbia, Montenegro, Dominican Republic and Kosovo, from entering the country.

He explained that among the plan of the Ministry of Education is a training program for teachers on the use of this interactive technology through modern communication programs, which the teacher must be aware of all its details in order to facilitate the process of transferring information to students and benefit from them, as well as the active participation of students with the explanation of teachers in the various classes.

He said the Ministry of Education has announced this program will start on the first of next September, so the teachers must return before August 16 in order for the teacher to remain 14 days in home or institutional quarantine based on the instructions of the Ministry.
