Less number of people killed in car accidents – 618 deaths reported in Dec, 2015

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: The Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality revealed the number of deaths recorded in December 2015 reached 618, besides 113 others who were repatriated to their countries, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting the latest statistics issued by the Funeral Affairs Department in the Municipality. The statistics showed that the number of people buried in Sulaibikhat Graveyard totaled 345 and 85 were shipped out of the country, whereas 81 bodies were buried in Ja’fari Graveyard and 25 others were shipped out of the country.

The number of those buried in Jahra Graveyard was 48 and in 131 in Sabhan Graveyard while three bodies were sent out of the country for burial. The number of bodies buried in the non-Muslim graveyard totaled 13. Meanwhile, informed sources at the Interior Ministry said according to the latest statistics issued by the General Traffic Department on the numbers of deaths as a result of car accidents during 2015 showed a decrease compared to 2014, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily added, 2014 reported 461 death cases and 2015 it was 429.

Kidnap attempted: The Hawalli police have arrested a 22-year-old Kuwaiti for assaulting an unidentified young Iranian woman and attempting to kidnap her, reports Al-Anba daily. The 23-year-old suspect has a bad reputation in the area and was also wanted by the Abu Halifa and Andalus police. Interrogations with the suspect are underway to identify the man supplier and the distributors.

Wanted expat caught: The Hawally police have arrested an unidentified Egyptian who had been sentenced in absentia and was wanted by law for his involvement in a KD 92,000 fraud, violating residence law and possessing hashish and heroine, reports Annahar daily.
