KUWAIT CITY, April 9: Lawyer Bashar Al-Nassar filed a lawsuit related to violation of the State Security Law against a Kuwaiti woman, accusing her of insulting Kuwait on social media. He also demanded a criminal case be filed against two journalists for publishing false news and violating the State Security Law.
The Kuwaiti woman posted a tweet on her Twitter account, the content of which was a clear and explicit violation of law No. 31/1970 and other relevant laws. These laws impose a jail term of not less than three years to anyone in Kuwait who intentionally broadcasts or publishes false information, news, statements or even rumors concerning the local situation of the country, which could damage the status of the State in various aspects and weaken its image abroad.
