Kuwait’s national boxing team with their Azerbaijani counterparts at training camp.

Kuwait’s national boxing team is on the third day of friendly matches with their Azerbaijani counterparts at training camp in preparation for the Asian Boxing Championship to be held in Kuwait from Aug 1-9 inside the boxing hall of Al-Kuwait Sports Club.

The Asian Boxing Championship is being organized under the auspices of the Chairperson of Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and 24 Asian countries are expected to take part.

The training for the Kuwaiti team started in the current month and it’s expected to continue until July 21 in Azerbaijan, and according to the national team coach Hamed Zayed, the team has two training schedules in the morning and evening, in addition to 6 friendly matches per two training sessions.

The head coach indicated he will choose 14 best boxers out of 21 to represent Kuwait in all weights of the Asian championship upon returning to Kuwait after the training camp. Kuwait’s partcipation in this event makes it the first since the Olympics ban was lifted early this month.
