Kuwait’s defense minister discusses boosting ties with Turkish, Indian ambassadors

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 15: Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah on Tuesday received the Turkish and Indian ambassadors to Kuwait discussing bilateral relations and cooperation with these envoys’ states.

The minister of defense receives the Turkish ambassador

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement the defense minister, during the meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Ase Koytak, discussed means of boosting joint action between the two countries. He also hailed the depth of the close bilateral relations between Kuwait and Turkey. The ambassador for her part delivered a message from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolgu to the Kuwaiti minister inviting him to the Antalya Diplomatic Forum due in March. Minister Sheikh Hamad expressed gratitude for the gracious invitation that depicted depth of the friendly relations and cooperation between the two states.

Defense minister receives the Indian ambassador

Separately, the defense minister received Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sibi George addressing issues of common interest, means of enhancing cooperation, regional and international issues. The two meetings were attended by the Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah, the acting Defense Undersecretary Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and the Assistant Undersecretary Sheikha Shamayel Ahmad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah. Later in the day, the minister hosted the State of Kuwait Ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Shafiri talking about some topics. He hailed the Kuwaiti mission’s role in bolstering cooperation between the two sisterly countries. (KUNA)
