Kuwaiti Wives Have Right to Ownership of Half of Government Provided House

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare has confirmed that Kuwaiti wives have the right to obtain a document of ownership for half of a government house through the relevant department without presenting it to a committee.

In a statement issued by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare refuted social media and electronic news reports claiming that Kuwaiti wives were being deprived of their right to own half of government housing. The Authority clarified that recent amendments to the Residential Care Regulations granted Kuwaiti wives the right to apply for electricity connection, along with any other family member, provided their requests were submitted to the competent committee for review in accordance with legal procedures.

According to the Authority, these amendments were intended to benefit the entire family and streamline the process for issuing the relevant document.
