KUWAIT CITY, July 23: The Court of Cassation sentenced a citizen to life imprisonment for stabbing his brother in the back due to their differences, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Case files indicate that in March last year, the victim — who works as a muezzin in a mosque in Ali Sabah Al-Salem suburb — was stabbed by his brother inside the mosque while he was calling for the evening prayer.
After the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident, the Ahmadi Governorate securitymen rushed to the mosque where they found the muezzin — a citizen in his 30s — on the brink of death as he sustained four serious stab wounds. He was taken to Adan Hospital where he underwent surgery and confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
