Kuwaiti citizen caught selling fake visas at KD 350 each

KUWAIT CITY, May 8: Officers from the Electronic Crimes Unit in the General Criminal Investigation Department at the Interior Ministry arrested a citizen, identified as Hassan Abbas, for selling fake entry visas.

In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department disclosed that results of preliminary investigations revealed the citizen is wanted by law for evading an 11-year jail term for involvement in a knifepoint robbery case. Information obtained by the officers also revealed that the citizen is selling fake entry visas for KD 350 each.

After obtaining permission from the concerned authority, the officers arrested the citizen from his place where they found forgery tools, 45 papers ready for illegal use, a fake identification card stating that the holder is an officer with the rank of major from the Citizenship and Passports Affairs Department, a vest which belongs to the Criminal Investigation Department and a belt with the logo of the Interior Ministry. The citizen and the confiscated items were referred to the relevant security unit for legal measures.
