KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Kuwaiti national bowling star Jassem Al-Saqer has affirmed that the future of the game in Kuwait is bright, especially after the inauguration of Kuwait Bowling Center which is adjudged to be the best in the Middle East and among the best in the world.

Al-Saqer is a gold medalist in the 2007 Asian Youth Championship, bronze medalist in individual and team at the 2009 Asian Championship, and triple silver medalist in the 25th Asian Bowling Championship hosted by Kuwait in October 2019. He applauded efforts exerted by Board Chairman of Kuwaiti Bowling Federation Sheikh Talal Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah and other members of the board as they have been playing pivotal roles in the giant strides accomplished by Kuwaiti bowling.

He disclosed that bowling started growing in Kuwait in the year 2007 while the players started reaping fruits after few years. He said the team passed through series of transformations before becoming the best Arab team and among the four best teams in Asia alongside South Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

He stressed that massive financial and moral support from Sheikh Al-Mohammad propelled the team to perform excellently in single, double, triple and team games. He added, “The first international outing in January 2020 will be in Sweden, followed immediately by another in Finland. I can assure everybody that we are going out there to fight for top positions, not just for participation. We are hoping for fantastic outings throughout the year.”
