Kuwait wins a silver and 5 bronze medals in the Arab Fencing Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Kuwait’s national team won a silver and five bronze medals in the individual and team competitions at Arab Fencing Championship held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Kuwaiti team won the silver for the men’s team in the (Saber) weapon, the bronze for the men’s team in the Foil and Épée, and the women’s team bronze in the Épée. Hassan Al-Foudari won the individual bronze in the Épée, while Ali Al-Nassar won the individual bronze in the Foil.
 
The technical director of the national team, Abdul Karim Al-Shamlan, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Kuwait Fencing Federation decided to participate in the tournament with the junior team to prepare them for future tournaments and increase exposure with other teams.

Al-Shamlan praised the performance of the players, both in the individual and team competitions to build a strong team capable of achieving continental and international titles.

He stated that the national team was able to keep up with the teams participating in the tournament and won several medals that proved the Kuwaiti player’s ability to compete at the highest levels and posses sufficient skills to stand on the podiums
