Kuwait slams DR Congo terror attack

KUWAIT CITY, July 30: Kuwait strongly condemns a terror attack on the base of the United Nations peacekeeper mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), killing at least three UN officers and peacekeepers, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

The victims were from Morocco, DR Congo and India, read a ministry statement, adding that a police officer from Egypt was also wounded. The ministry underlined Kuwait’s “principled and firm stance against violence and terrorism,” extending its “sincere condolences and sympathy” to the countries’ leaderships, government and people, along with the families of the victims. It also wished a quick recovery for those injured in the attack. (KUNA)
