MANAMA, Nov 19: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday met with Commander of United States Naval Forces Central Command and Commander of Fifth Fleet Vice-Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper on the sidelines of the 2022 Manama Dialogue. During the meeting, they stressed close relations between the State of Kuwait and the US, and underlined the significance of promoting bilateral cooperation in the naval security field as part of the existing strategic partnership between both friendly countries.

The US general commended close friendship between both countries as well as Kuwait's prominent role in promoting regional security and stability. Both sides, further, stressed the significance of bolstering the security of waterways and ensuring the freedom, safety and movement of navigation in the Gulf region.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also met Saturday with the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of Great Britain and Northern Ireland James Cleverly on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue 2022. The British official congratulated Sheikh Salem on being appointed as foreign minister, wishing him success and the Kuwaiti-UK ties further prosperity. The two sides also touched on ways of boosting political, security and economic cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, they expressed common aspiration to hold the first strategic dialogue between Kuwait and the UK at the level of foreign ministers.
